Event Details

Edible Queens is thrilled to announce Queens Uncorked, a local wine and food event pairing Long Island wine with Queens restaurants and food artisans, presented by Queens newcomer Fairway, opening in Douglaston on November 16. Proceeds of Queens Uncorked will go to GrowNYC, and specifically to local farmers who've been severely impacted by Hurricane Irene. A list of these farmers and the devastation they've experienced appears below.

Please come enjoy 3 hours of local wining and dining at Long Island City's coolest event location, The Foundry, for a worthy cause!!

Tickets are $40 per person. No one under age 21 admitted. Proof of age identification required for entry.

Some of the Farmers Impacted by Hurricane Irene:

Angel Family Farm, Orange County: Extensive damage to vine crops.

El Mirador Farm, Monmouth County: 40-50% loss. Extensive damage to vine crops. 100% loss of beans.

Fresh Radish Farm, Orange County: 40% of farm affected.

Gonzalez Farm, Orange County: 80% loss, all of fall plantings gone.

J Glebocki Farms, Orange County: 80% loss, still attending all of their Greenmarkets.

J Madura Farms, Orange County

Lucky Dog Farm

Migliorelli Farm: 15% loss, most of that damage of his fruit trees. Still bringing a lot of produce.

Mimomex Farm, Orange County: Heavy losses in vine and root crops. Almost all corn gone.

Monkshood Nursery, Columbia County: 70% crop loss, still attending Jackson Heights and Columbia Univ Greenmarkets

Pavia Family Farm, Monmouth County: Extensive damage to vine crops, including summer and winter squash, watermelons, and cucumbers.

Perez Market, Orange County: Almost complete loss of newly planted late season crops.

R & G Produce, Orange County: Extensive damage, still attending all of their markets.

R & R Produce, Orange County: Nearly 100% loss, some parts of farm still under water after tropical storm Lee flooded them again.

W. Rogowski Farm, Orange County
